Lawton Elementary was the exception to the norm of my Philadelphia educational experience. While I pretty much have forgotten everything of my 5th grade Latin studies, I bet it had a positive effect on my problem solving and communication skills.

Ah another weekend passes us by and for me it was a weekend with quite a lot of difference to the normal...My boys, for the first time ever spent a couple of nights away from me... it was a Lads and Dads kind of a weekend... Now let me tell you this was not an easy thing to do.

Meet Cary resident Critter. Yes, that’s really his name. You see growing up, he could often be found toting a snake or a lizard around, so he earned the nickname Critter. Around 2000, he legally changed it. Critter is a developer for Seesmic.

In mid-August, this distinctively marked moth was found walking on the screen of the bathroom window. I invited it in for a brief visit, during which I shot several photos. I haven’t had time to do more than a quick peruse through moth images looking for an ID, but so far, no luck.

I’m writing this in Paris, France. 19 years ago, my wife and I looked at one another as we sat in a cafe in London and said, “Well, with us starting a family, we may skip a year in our annual European vacations.” That was 1989. Nineteen years later, we’re taking our next trip.
