While driving your favorite cars, your mind is all set to enjoy the brand new car you have bought or sometimes a used one but of your choice. Keep in mind that as long as it runs well, you enjoy it; but when it comes down to maintenance or repair - you get tired of it.

Three different times this has happened. First time. Unlocked car. Passenger and myself climb in. Driver's door will not close--it hits and bounces back. So I unlocked, locked, unlocked, opened all the doors, closed them and repeated and driver's door shut. 2nd time. About three weeks later.

This is strange - when I insert the key in the ignition and go to the ON position, I get a key symbol in the dash display instead of an "N" for neutral. And the car won't start. This key had worked fine for about 5 months. I tried using my spare key and it worked fine.

Okay, I don't have a clue what this light going off means, but it's the one on the left with the exclamation point inside of it above the seatbelt flasher (pic here) - what the heck does that mean, and what do i need to do to resolve this?

Took my Smart to the dealership for a 5,000 mile service (please don't flame me over this) & there is an oil leak. It's not a heavy leak, but it is a leak none the less. The mechanic is going to take it apart. Should be about a day or so before he knows whats going on.

Installed a new stainless gas filler door. CEL came on later that week and the scanguage read P0455 which is gross emission leak. Discovered I had left the gas cap very loose which fixed the problem when tightened . Erased the code and dash CEL easily with the scan guage and saved a 200 mile round trip to the Dallas Smart dealership and 7 hours of my time.
