Fending Off The Bear
http://burningourmoney.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 08/ fending-off-bear.htmlWe've just watched a TV doc with ex-spychief Stella Rimington reviewing Britain's changing attitude to Russia over the last century. Very interesting, especially since she finished it before the invasion of Georgia. She ended by asking whether we will ever feel able to trust the Russians?

Doctor Who (Seasons 3 And 4)
http://fangirlmomma.com/ television/ doctor-who-seasons-3-and-4/I’m not sure that I have entirely processed everything that happened, but here are my thoughts. Season Three: I did like Martha. But I felt so sorry for her. No wonder the Rose fans couldn’t let go. She was mentioned in almost every damn episode. I think that cheapened Martha’s experience.

Eco-Windfall
http://burningourmoney.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 07/ eco-windfall.htmlAnd damn the evil capitalists We've been shouting at the radio coverage of the mooted £9bn windfall tax on energy companies. On PM Dave Spart was given an extended BBC platform to lay into the evil profiteers who are once again grinding the faces of the poor.

Clock bar
http://berkeleycocktails.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 07/ 18/ clock-bar/After reading an entry in Jordan Mackay’s Buzzed blog, I stopped in at the Clock Bar which recently opened in the Westin St. Francis. And, in fact, sat right in front of Marco (so, if that reference is meaningless to you then you need to click on the link above and read Jordan’s blog) which meant not only was I served by him but I got to watch his handiwork and chat him up a bit on cocktails.

PON News
http://adlib.blogs.com/ andyblog/ 2008/ 07/ pon-news.htmlRebecca does her best, despite a huge crowd of ugly children demanding entry It's every retailer's worst nightmare - a totally full-on assault on the "three children or less" rule. I watched for all of 15 minutes as Rebecca skillfully negotiated with them - finally getting them to leave without calling the police.

Close but no cigar…
http://wizardprang.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 07/ 11/ close-but-no-cigar/Yesterday I spotted a deal on Lowes.com. To avoid shipping charges, I arranged for pick-up at a local store. Paid with my Debit card and everything was hunky-dory. So far so good. About an hour later my cellphone rang; it was a nice chap from the store letting me know that my order had been “pulled”.

Don’t say it… I know.
http://www.rosher.me.uk/ wordpress/ ?p=236I’m a very naughty boy. Promise I won’t buy anything at Priddy Folk Festival this weekend. It’s an NS WAV electric double bass in Amber Sunburst and it’s… well it’s rather lovely. Plugged into the Line 6 Low Down it sounds pretty double bass-like, although I have to keep it down a bit or the rest of the house goes into sympathetic resonance!

Richard's Thanisaurus
http://eastcliffrichard.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 07/ richards-thanisaurus.htmlFollowing the sackful of emails I received after publishing a few helpful Thanetian phrases for our water skiing visitors this week, I've been persuaded to produce a Richard's Thanisaurus. The aim of my Thanisaurus will be to collect terms and phrases unique to our lovely little island here in the tip of Kent.
