The other day I asked what happened to the $800,000 that Andrew Baron’s father (and Rielle Hunter’s benefactor) Fred Baron had invested in Andrew’s videoblog Rocketboom. Does anybody know how much it costs to start a videoblog? Because I keep pondering that Valleywag story about Rielle Hunter’s best friend Fred Baron loaning his son Andrew $800,000 to start Rocketboom (and then suing to get it back).

Loren Feldman is a tech blogger of some repute, apparently. Valleywag refers to him as “the Don Imus of Silicon Valley,” which may or may not be a compliment. Feldman, who’s not known for mincing words — I’m not sure what he is known for, but it’s not that — now has some free advice for Fred Baron.

Dear Fred, I like you. You seem like a nice guy, you loaned Andy a boat load of dough for his nonsense,and now you are in a jam. I know it’s instinct to reach out to family during a time of crisis, but Drew has a big mouth. Please Fred, you need sound advice at this point.

If you’ve been following the John Edwards/Rielle Hunter scandal, by now you’ve heard of Fred Baron. He’s the former Edwards campaign finance chair who says he’s been paying for Rielle’s rent, transcontinental moves, and other living expenses, as well as those of Andrew Young and his family, since the story first broke in the National Enquirer last October.
