I use this lens mostly for existing light interior photos and portrait photos. (It does work well with strobes in a studio setting too.) Between the fast, constant aperture and the IS system, you get great low-light capability. It's as sharp as my 50 1.4 but more versatile for use in group portraits.

Gee Gee did. On her last day here. Just for Taryn. Who was thrilled. Ok, I'm going to be brave and risk possibly jinxing it. It's been a long road. But....here goes.... Taryn is potty trained. WAHOO!! She's going on 3 weeks of being accident free, not only during the day, but at night and nap time too.

Still sick, but well enough now to sit up and type, so here I am. The visit with my mom was great, I love it when she's here, the kids light up. And I'm sad when she goes. Our visits always go by too fast. Things I'll want to remember....

These were taken a couple of days before independence day. Most Israelis start competing in how patriotic they are weeks before. But in everyday life they compete in bashing Israel and bitching how much they want to move to the US or Canada.

A couple of weeks ago I had a very productive day on a stony beach, despite cold winds, salt spray and occasional rain. The K10D and the DA* lens performed flawlessly, and I spent hours playing with the surf over the rocks. I took many abstract shots like the below, but they need a lot of time to grow on me before I can decide which ones to go on with.

There were some blue eyes, and there was a lot of rain (and tornadoes), but mostly this was a sharpness test of the recently delivered Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM. Deliciously sharp, and incredibly blue (lens and eyes, respectively).

Compared to the last one, this is an all-natural post. The photo perfectly illustrates what I love about the ZF 25/2.8: Very close focusing on a small flower, great sharpness, and nice bokeh around the central (sharp and highly detailed) image.

These were taken in Maki’s dad’s garden, although they could have been taken anywhere. (Yes many pixels were harmed and forced into unnatural configurations in the creation of this post.)
