In returning from the Learning 2.008 Conference, I have had a lot on my mind.  The conference brought together educators new to all of this “shift happens” talk and those that were on board - our “converted” that echo in the blogosphere, sometimes too much.  And the conference continues to succeed

About ten years ago (maybe more) the name of a school librarian changed to “media specialist” with a few variations to that. SC calls our certification media specialist. But with the name change came the impression that we were not educators, but rather support people.

The Shift Our Schools podcasts look specifically at how, why and what schools need to do to answer to the shift that is happening in technology, the world, and hopefully in education.

Educational Origami author has done a nice job of summarizing some of the characteristics of the 21st Century Educator. They ask.. But what about the 21st Century Teacher, what are the charactoristics we would expect to see in a 21st Century Educator.

This blog typically focuses on technology and learning. This time, I am going to branch out into an area that I know less about…art learning. Last week, a colleague shared an article by Project Zero Principal Investigators Ellen Winner and Lois Hetland.

It’s ETC time again.  This year the conference is in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - my old stomping grounds.  Lived there 8 years, got married there, and 2 of my 3 kids were born there.  It’s going to be fun to be back.

My daughter just told me about this cool project from GoodSearch. They are holding a video contest to raise awareness for charities. Create a video that answers the question “Who do you GoodSearch for?” and highlights the cause you care about most.
