A couple of months ago, PSP users were looking forward to Sony Playstation Portable’s 4.00 firmware, hoping that it would being something new to the already popular handheld gaming console. There were rumors of additional multimedia support like codecs for video playback beyond MPEG4 and such.

Sony is soon to release a new firmware for its PSP handheld console and that will be the version 4.05. One confirmed feature to have is the new visualizers for music player. That is pretty fast.

PSP 4.05 firmware update includes new visualizers for music playback, a feature that will be welcome by those who use their PlayStation Portable for listening to music, among other features. Sony has not mention what other features it will also released in PSP 4.05 firmware update which will be released very soon.

Sony has offically launched the 4.05 release. Not much has changed with this new version so getting a custom firmware version of it is next to none. Although undocumented in the official changelog for PSP firmware 4.05, a page found on Sony’s North American customer care website has unearthed a hidden feature contained in the update: support for PlayStation Store movie and television video downloads. Interesting, interesting.
