On Linux Plumbers Conference Thursday, Arjan van de Ven, Intel Linux Developer and PowerTOP programmer, and Auke Kok – Intel Open Source Technology Center demonstrated linux boot for only 5 seconds. For presentation they use Asus EEE PC, with flash memory not the hard drive, and Fedora and moblin modified linux distributions.

Intel developers managed to crack on Fedora and Moblin distros and made them to boot on the Eee PC in 5 seconds. Actual Eee PC model not mentioned, but it has an SSD, to give us a hint. They even had to hold the Eee PC with their hands in front of the audience since the projector is too slow to synch.
