While this is the postal zip code for Beverly Hills, California, it is most notably used in reference to the Fox prime time teen drama, Beverly Hills, 90210. The series was created by Darren Star and produced by the late Aaron Spelling, ran from 1990-2000, and sparked a spin-off series, Melrose Place.

The show's premise centered on the culture shock the Walsh family experienced after moving from Minnesota to Beverly Hills. Twins Brandon and Brenda had to find a way to blend their wholesome upbringing with the fast-paced lifestyle of the children of the rich and famous. The series was known for addressing social issues facing teens, such as drugs, date rape, eating disorders, death, gun control, racism, etc.

As the characters grew, the series followed the development through college and into the real world. The show's debut marked the career launches of Luke Perry, Jennie Garth, Shannen Doherty, Jason Priestly, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling, Aaron Spelling's daughter.

A "next generation" reincarnation of the show debuted in Fall 2008 on the CW network and features some old characters and original actors.
