AFC LIVERPOOL HAVE DECIDED ON THEIR NEW CLUB CREST. THE CLUB RAN A COMPETITION IN THE "LIVERPOOL.COM" MAGAZINE ASKING FOR IDEAS FOR A NEW CREST, AND THE FINAL DECISION TO CHOOSE THE NEWLY DESIGNED CREST WAS MADE BY A VOTE FROM THE MEMBERSHIP.

Things are moving on at AFC Liverpool, the club set up to offer Liverpool fans affordable football, with a manager having been appointed, pre-season friendlies being set up and squads on the verge of being announced. Yet perhaps the most exciting recent development has been the announcement of the club’s crest.

Former Southport and Bangor City full-back Derek Goulding has been officially unveiled as the first ever manager of new amateur side AFC Liverpool. “I am delighted to be the first ever manager of AFC Liverpool as this is a club with enormous potential.” Goulding told The Echo.

A group of Liverpool fans have announced that they have formed a new football club, AFC Liverpool, to provide fans with a cheaper alternative to watching regular football. The fans don’t blame Liverpool Football Club for the expensive cost of top-flight football, but say they want to provide a way of once again allowing the community to experience the “match-going culture”.

As one thought a while back when ShareLFC was announced, an amateur football club has been setup and officially launched last week called AFC Liverpool by a dedicated group of fans. The 10-strong group of fans led by Alun Parry of Wavertree, insist it is not an alternative to Liverpool FC but is a team that LFC fans can support together without it costing the earth each week.
