Beware the Allure of Ethanol Investing

    http://www.cleantechblog.com/ 2008/ 06/ beware-allure-of-ethanol-investing.html

I am a fan of ethanol. The addition of corn ethanol to our US fuel supply chain has had a significant impact in keeping gasoline prices way lower than they otherwise would have been, and has paid for the subsidies many times over.

    AVR-Based Serial Port IR Receiver

    http://www.electronics-lab.com/ blog/ ?p=1949

This is a simple IR receiver circuit which plugs into a serial port of a computer. Althrought, there are many other circuits of this kind, and most of them are even simpler, but this circuit has two major advantages: (1) it uses an Atmel AVR RISC microcontroller (an AT90S2313) instead of the usual PIC microcontroller and (2) it uses a Maxim MAX232 for the generation of valid RS232 levels.
