Then come on over to Rosenblum Cellars this Wednesday (July 9), from 6:30 to 8:30!  With the help of one of our winemakers—John Kane— we’ll learn how oak goes from the tree to the barrel.  And then, more importantly, how that affects our favorite beverage.  The hospitable Mr.

Tonight I’ll be teaching a wine seminar on California appellations—a liquid crash course.  We’ll be covering six AVA’s, tasting our way across the state.  Santa Barbara, Paso Robles, Livermore, Contra Costa, Redwood Valley, and of course, Rockpile… which Rosenblum helped put on the map.  Then we’ll taste a few more wines blind, to see if folks can put what they learned into action.
