What is the story on Dr Aafia Siddiqui, the MIT grad who may have been imprisoned at Bagram, that notorious American detention facility in Afghanistan, for the past five years? Siddiqui is a 36-year old Pakistani woman who when young was sent to America by her father, along with her two siblings, for education.

The conservative movement of today consists of three major groups: Christian Conservatives, NeoConservatives and Big Business. The traditional small-government groups such as Ron Paul’s group are weak and powerless; Alterman claims that all three of the major groups are not really conservative at all.

Last week the "Center for American Progress" published a piece by Eric Alterman and George Zornick: Hatred for Sale. The article posits that certain cable news personalities serve up a "steady diet of fear, anger, and resentment" over the problem of illegal immigration. The unholy trio? Glenn Beck, Lou Dobbs, and Bill O'Reilly.
