American Diabetes Association

Tag details

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) is a health organization funding diabetes research, advocacy efforts, and education. Tens of thousands of bloggers participate in their fundraising events and share their experiences or organize online.

The ADA's stance on low-carb diets and other treatments sparked controversies of intense debate. Diabetes is a disease that affects every aspect of someone's lifestyle and many have strong views on the ideal diets and treatment regimes for the best health outcomes. As a large organization, the ADA has traditionally been conservative as it adopts it's recommendations to new evidence.
