Buying a new car (and there’s even an ALA 2008 tie-in)
http://freerangelibrarian.com/ 2008/ 07/ 03/ buying-a-new-car/So Sandy’s car is kaput (of course, since she’s temporarily between jobs — isn’t that how it works?) and I am going to bequeath her my trusty Honda Civic and get a new-to-me set of wheels. Probably not brand-new. I’m thinking a gently-used Prius or Mini-Cooper — exactly what I was thinking these last few months when I told myself that it wasn’t a good time to buy a new(er) car.

One section of roadway looks the same as the next: the strip malls all have the same stores, and if you go ten miles, you’ll see the same stores flashing by

Mostly Absent From The Hearing, But Commenting As If They Were There
http://transadvocate.com/ autumnsandeen/ archives/ 1780One of the things I noticed about the An Examination of Discrimination Against Transgender Americans in the Workplace hearing is that minus the Alliance Defense Fund, there weren’t any conservative Christian organizations speaking at the hearing; minus the Traditional Values Coalition any conservative

Russert + Rose Bush Hopes Others
http://valuesaustralia.com/ blog/ ?p=630Tim Russert, the presenter of NBC’s Meet the Press died the other day. We are sure he was a very good guy as a human being. Loving and loved by his family. He certainly seemed to be from his appearance on The Daily Show with John Stewart. As Donne said, Each man’s death diminishes me,/For I am involved in mankind.

Boomeritis
http://boomerbabesrock.com/ blog/ boomeritis-2/Boomeritis is a term I learned several years ago while reading an article about baby boomers.
