An Ode to the Washington Witnesses
http://mvn.com/ nba-cavaliers/ 2008/ 05/ 02/ an-ode-to-the-washington-witnesses/…Now that we’ve made an annual tradition out of the Cleveland Cavaliers beating the Washington Witnesses in the first round of the playoffs, it’s time to honor the recipients of this rare and unique treatment. Let’s face it: it’s hard to lose to one damn team in the postseason over and over again.

Game 6: Cavs at the Phone Booth
http://dcprosportsreport.com/ ?p=245First, this to get you in the mood… It’s do or die — again — for the Bullets as they try to do what they haven’t been able to do the last two years — prevent Cleveland from eliminating them from the playoffs in their own building. Washington hasn’t been knocked out of the playoffs on the road in 20 years, since Detroit did it in the late 1980s.

Bullets dig themselves a hole
http://dcprosportsreport.com/ ?p=231The Bullets lost 100-97 to the Cleveland Cavaliers, unable, once again, to defend their home court and go back to Cleveland with a tied series. The stats show you that Brendan Haywood played well. Antawn Jamison carried the team thru 3 quarters, but disappeared in the fourth.

Lebron can’t dodge the Bullets in game 3
http://dcprosportsreport.com/ ?p=222For the first time in the playoffs, Deshawn Stevenson couldn’t feel his face. After laying a gruesome egg in the playoffs last year and doing little in the first two games of this series, even Deshawn’s ardent fans must have been wondering when he’d find his game in the postseason.

Grading the Bullets on Game 2
http://dcprosportsreport.com/ ?p=218Well, you know this is going to be ugly [116-86, after all], so let’s just get to it. Caron Butler: Shot 4 for 13, played little defense, and scored only 12 points. However, he did grab 7 rebounds, dish 5 assists and commit zero turnovers. Those are improvements over game 1.

CavsCast: Witnesses Resorting to Thuggery to Stop LeBron
http://mvn.com/ nba-cavaliers/ 2008/ 04/ 21/ cavscast-witnesses-resorting-to-thu…If you can’t beat ‘em, whack ‘em. That seems to be the new mantra of the Washington Witnesses. We saw guys like Brendan Haywood and Etan Thomas take their best shots at King James in the 2006 series. Although 2007 was over before it started, 2008 has introduced new characters like Andray Blatche and DeShawn Stevenson, both of whom have fit the “witnesses” title well so far.

3.0 will be different
http://dcprosportsreport.com/ ?p=210This is the third time in 3 years the Washington Bullets will face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the playoffs — each time without home court advantage. The teams are different this year, though. The Cavaliers have traded their best backcourt defender, Larry Hughes, and come into the postseason as a lesser defensive team, though still a dominant club on the glass.

Get Off the Pot
http://dimemag.com/ 2008/ 04/ 10/ get-off-the-pot/Get Off the Pot By Austin Burton Sebastian Telfair (adidas) No, this is not an open plea to Keon Clark…but it does relate to Keon in a way. With the NBA Draft coming up, college underclassmen are declaring left and right (O.J. Mayo and Eric Gordon being the headliners so far) and international prospects will soon become part of water-cooler Draft talk.
