Back in the late 90s, early 2000s, I purchased some $50 voice recognition software. Children of Bacchus by Andrew Grey

Montana Avenue has a couple of staples, Father’s Office probably being the most popular amongst them. Beyond the beer and burger, Montana Cafe and 17th Street Cafe have been there forever, and Babalu even survived a fire. Fireside Cellars has an impressive selection of high-end wines, but the Duck Blind is the only liquor store around that sells high-end nudie magazines.

Republican VP candidate Palin’s speech last night sort of puts the lie to George Lakoff’s nuanced, subtle, meta-analysis of the important symbolism and cultural meaning of code words, stereotypes and emotional appeals (see yesterday’s post or just read his book).

    Second team

    http://blogs.thetimes.co.za/ cricket/ 2008/ 09/ 04/ second-team/

MICKEY Arthur is hinting at change in the Proteas team, but there are no obvious candidates from what we could see in the B team, who drew their game against Sri Lanka A this week in Potch. OK, eight centuries were scored and four of them from South Africans — Ahmed Amla, Arno Jacobs, Heino Kuhn and Andrew Puttick — but no allrounder worth his salt in sight.
