    @media 2008

    http://learningtheworld.eu/ 2008/ atmedia-2008/

    I had the chance to visit the @media conference in London again, for the third time. Again it was different than the last times. Perhaps less spectacular, a little less people, no real revelation. There were excellent talks inside the halls, but the best talks happened outside.

    http://lunchpail.knotice.com/ 2008/ 06/ 02/ google%e2%80%99s-android-taking-mobi…

    Recently Andy Rubin, the Google engineering director heading up Google's mobile platform Android, likened today's hodge-podge of mobile phone software to the early days of personal computers. I thought the reference to the earlier days of the PC was spot on.

    So far we have only seen a key driven interface for Google’s Android OS but yesterday, a video that appeared on the BBC website seemed to confirm that there is already a touchscreen version of the OS up and running.

    How Much Did Microsoft Pay for Danger?

    http://voices.allthingsd.com/ 20080213/ om-2/

    By Om Malik, Blogger, GigaOM Microsoft is in some of kind of spending mood. First they offered up $45 billion for Yahoo (not enough for some!). And then there was that Danger acquisition. But how much did they spend on the Palo Alto, Calif.-based company started by Android leader Andy Rubin? No one at Microsoft is talking, nor are the guys at Danger.

    http://www.culturebully.com/ the-top-5-worst-calls-of-the-50th-annual-grammys

    All things considered, when scanning the list there aren’t really too many surprises, considering that this is the same awards show that had Jethro Tull beating out Metallica and Steely Dan beating out everyone a few years back. It wasn’t out of line to figure Amy Winehouse to win a bunch of awards…and she did.
