This week features some big names in epic fantasy and a gangsta chef. Really. Not sure if this will be mainstream or fantasy (PM is mixed) but the rumor is that this went for a ridiculous amount of money.

Although I am working my way through a book to be reviewed for Blogcritics, I forgot to bring it home with me this weekend, so I decided to pick up one of the books high up on Mt. TBR. Anne & Todd McCaffrey’s Dragon Harper is a book a received for Christmas.

This is the third volume of the Twins of Petaybee series. To let you know how I felt about the book, let me quote what I said about Maelstrom, the second in the series: It is lighter than the Dragonrider series, and I don’t find the cultural background anywhere near as interesting, but the characters are engaging, and the story is fun.

Synopsis: A young woman discovers her destiny among a cadre of psychic dragons, and hatches a radical plan to save her planet from a deadly threat using time travel. Review: I wish I had discovered Pern when I was in high school. Dragonflight, one of Anne McCaffrey’s books set in the dragon-strewn world, is perfect YA sci fi fantasy.

My review of the Stargate SG1 movie Ark of Truth is deferred a week or two. Instead, I want to note the passing of one of the masters of the sci fi/fantasy genre, Arthur C. Clarke, and share with you some of my favorite science fiction and fantasy authors and their works.

This week's BTT question is... "Who is your favorite male lead character?" Hmm. My favorite male lead... that's a tough one. I don't read many books with male lead characters. My three favorites are Robinton from The MasterHarper of Pern, Artemis Fowl from, well, Artemis Fowl, and Merlin from The Lost Years of Merlin.

Finally managed to sort out the mess I made of the Cast page. Now it’s all in pretty tables and should be a little easier to read. I have the first two episodes (in eight parts) set up in drafts and ready to start posting. Once I have all of the first season (ten episodes) done, I’ll start posting.

This is the third book in the Tower and Hive series. this books starts about 17 years after the last, and tells the tales of the oldest children in the Ravon-Lyon clan. How they start their lives with their first stations, and being Prime Talents.
