The Scottish Party suspended Philip Lardner as a candidate after he praised Iain Smith and called Edward Heath a rat. They have now lifted the suspension with this formal press statement: “The Scottish Conservative and Unionist party suspended the candidature of Philip Lardner following an article which appeared in the Sunday Herald newspaper on 22nd June 2008.

Isle of Arran Distillers, 2007 Scottish Distiller of the Year, has reported an annual loss for that same year of £157,000. The Directors’ report show that this is due, in part, to an increase in interest charges of £48.000 following the company’s investment in new mill and warehousing facilities.

Clyde Coastguard were called out this afternoon by the owner of holiday cottages at Skipness at the entrance to Loch Fyne in Argyll, opposite the Isle of Arran. Some people staying in the cottages had taken out a small rowing boat and could no longer be seen from shore.

It was a good day today. Work went reasonably well, with the Co-Op coming in with their banking just before the time when it would have meant chasing my tail to close, although I did still end up chasing my tail anyway. But this isn't about that,...

One of my favourite photos of late. Taken at Brodick castle. What you DON’T see is the hundreds of swarming mosquitoes sucking the life out of you. Never have I ever seen so many of them sucking my blood. After the weekend, I looked like a smallpox survivor.

Despite the wreck, we had a wonderful time in Nashville during the NACBA conference. I was able to learn and network through workshops during the day which really recharged my batteries and I was able to spend the evenings with Lori reconnecting with her. Thank you for all of your prayers about the car accident last week.
