Blogspot

Blogspot, now known as Blogger, is one of a number of blog platforms, or blogging software. Blogspot is a hosted platform, which simply means that the blogs are maintained and hosted on Blogspot's servers.

In 2003 Google purchased Pyra Labs, giving them control of Blogspot. Blogging has become widely popular over the last decade, giving anyone who wants to write a platform for their work. As a free blogging platform, Blogspot is very popular and currently hosts millions of blogs, including the Google Blog.

Blogspot blogs can sometimes be identified by the "xxx.blogspot.com" in the URL, but many bloggers also choose to use their own domain names, such as www.pilatesgoddess.com
