Britney Spears

Britney Spears is perhaps one of the most compelling figures in the pop music world. Once America's Pop Princess, the music superstar has become more famous as of late for her various exploits in the public eye and has had less than flattering attention cast her way.

Spears burst on to the scene straight out of the Mickey Mouse Club with her debut album, 1999's ...Baby One More Time. The album was a success, introducing Spears to a global audience and plugging her into superstar status almost instantaneously. She also became renowned as a sex symbol, gathering attention around the world for her looks.

After more albums and an attempt at a film, Spears started to become more known for her personal life than for her music. She married dancer Kevin Federline in 2004 and had two kids, only to end the marriage two years later. Spears began to gain attention for her bizarre public behavior, including incidents in which she shaved her head and drove with her baby on her lap.

After taking a brief time-out from the spotlight, it appears as though Spears' career is perhaps in reboot mode. After appearing on a few television shows and releasing 2007's Blackout, Spears is hoping to regain some of her past glory. Only time will tell if she is able to accomplish her goal.
