CALIFORNIA

Founded by the great California Gold Rush, California is the country’s third largest state. The Golden State is known for promoting the dreams of gold prospectors, golden screen stars and wannabe stars. The city is well established and boasts a thriving tourism industry, world-class weddings and accommodations.

What is less known about California is that it is one of the leaders of the green-environmental movement. California has adopted green and sustainable processes in nearly every aspect of life. Eco-adventure based resort Costanoa is an example of the devotion to eco-tourism and environmental awareness.

The Solar Living Institute, the Allen Chadwick Garden, the Green Gulch Zen Center, the Edible Schoolyard and the famous inspirational for local, sustainable restaurants; Chez Panisse are all great attractions for the eco friendly traveler. Napa Valley eco-tours create great California vacations and touring options.

Blogs on California include travel journals, tourism guides and updates on wildfire and other new events. The Whole Travel blog is focused on eco-tourism and is rich in informative articles and news events. This includes the struggle between California’s budget constraints and the preservation of parks and coastlines
