Brewers offer arbitration to CC, Sheets

http://yankees.lhblogs.com/ 2008/ 12/ 01/ brewers-offer-arbitration-to-cc-sheets…
As expected, Milwaukee offered arbitration to CC Sabathia and Ben Sheets today. Both are Type A free agents, so signing them will cost a draft pick. Can’t imagine either of them accepts it. In response to a few e-mails, the arbitration rules have changed under the new CBA. ...

No arbitration for Springer, Looper, Isringhausen

    http://www.pitchershiteighth.com/ 2008/ 12/ 01/ no-arbitration-for-springer-loop…

Well, I must say that at least one of these decisions by GM John Mozeliak and his front office counterparts with the Cardinals was a surprise. The Cards elected to decline to offer arbitration to any of their three “compensatory” free agents - Russ Springer, Braden Looper, and Jason Isringhausen.

Free Styles and Designs for your website

    http://blogsolute.com/ 2008/ 12/ web-design-style-resource.html

The web design is an art, and like all art is made not for everyone. If this is your case, it’s always good to get help to make good designs and learn. Stylelgnite is a great place to do this, because this is a site that collects and publishes various codes, css, style sheets, javascript, all geared to various fields such as forms, buttons, fonts, and almost any part of a web.

According to various news sources and MLB.com, the Milwaukee Brewers have offered C.C. Sabathia, Ben Sheets, and Brian Shouse arbitration before the midnight deadline (Eastern Time). Sabathia recorded 251 strikeouts in the 2008 season, and maintained an ERA of 2.70 over the course of 253 innings pitched.

    Two-Wheeled Kismet

    http://amsterdamize.com/ 2008/ 12/ 02/ two-wheeled-kismet/

From China Daily comes a cute tale: Couple court and tie the knot on bicycle wheels A Chongqing man went to fetch his bride-to-be for their wedding day with more than a hundred cyclists riding along with them. The teacher, whose net name is Huangniu Zhuli, said he fell in love with his wife at first sight.

Ryan Braun moved to left because Prince Fielder — capable of playing first, sort of — would be incapable of playing left. Ergo, left is more challenging than first base. That’s a pretty coherent argument Mark just made for me, in about 30 words.

    Crew Offers Arbitration to Three

    http://www.thebuckychannel.com/ 2008/ 12/ crew-offers-arbitration-to-three.html

Two things were known for sure. One, the Brewers were going to offer arbitration to CC Sabathia basically as a guarantee they would get two free agents after he likely signs elsewhere. Two, Eric Gagne would not be getting a phone call. That left two Brewers still eligible for arbitration, pitchers Ben Sheets and Brian Shouse.

Sign Sabathia? Why not, it’s the American way

    http://www.bugsandcranks.com/ los-angeles-angels/ gilbert-quinonez/ sign-sabathi…

The common wisdom is that the Angels need to go after a big bat, and the logic is there, given that the Angels have great pitching and mediocre hitting. So why should the Angels spend their money on C.C. Sabathia? It’s the American way. Why settle for four great starters when you can have five? This is America, the land of capitalism.

Ben Reiter has a piece in Sports Illustrated that asks whether C.C. Sabathia is too fat to be a good long-term bet. He asks six experts who conclude that, no, his odds of staying healthy aren’t any worse than a smaller pitcher.
