COMMENTARY

Tag details

Commentary is expression which is the sole opinion of the person making it. Often, this gets put on public display where others can form their own thoughts about the matter. The most well known form comes via politicians trying to get a bill passed into law.

Another definition of commentary involves media entertainment. When people purchase a movie DVD, one of the extra features is having those who are directly involved in making the film talk about their experiences. By doing so, movie watchers are given an inside view into the process.

Sometimes commentary is printed. Religious texts use commentary as a means of helping readers understand both context and background. This tends to be in a volume all by itself rather than at the back of the book.
