OLPC - the newest target of overclocking
http://www.slashgear.com/ olpc-the-newest-target-of-overclocking-2710929.phpI thought for sure this guide was going to involve DIP switches when I read that this computer only has a 433MHz processor. But it didn’t, its all software, or more precisely, firmware based. The requirements are quite low too, you must have an OLPC, you must have a developer key or have disabled security prior to this hack, and you must be perfectly OK with bricking your OLPC if you screw up.

Linux CPU Speed Reporting
http://www.sheepguardingllama.com/ ?p=2287Linux has multiple means of reporting CPU speed. This can make hardware discovery difficult depending on what source you attempt to use as your reference point. You may discover that two sources, such as cpuinfo and dmidecode produce entirely different results.

Computer Performance…More Than Just Clock Speed.
http://andersondevs.com/ ?p=3Computer Performance…More Than Just Clock Speed. December 16, 2007 Hardware No Comments If I were to ask you which processor had better performance: a 2.4GHz Intel Celeron processor or a 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, most of you have heard enough about the popular dual-core wonders from Intel to know that

Why did CPUs stop getting faster about 5 years ago?
http://ask.metafilter.com/ 78227/ Why-did-CPUs-stop-getting-faster-about-5-years…Why are CPUs not getting faster any more? This plot is some data I scraped from a few sources around the web. I know it's not exhaustive, but I'm looking to pick out long-term and general trends. It's clear to me that processor clock speed has plateau'ed around roughly 4 GHz.
