http://www.markevanstech.com/ 2008/ 05/ 12/ so-much-for-crowdsourcing/
Update: Mathew Ingram has a post with some updated information about the Cambrian House situation after speaking with Cambrian House CEO Michael Sikorsky. Goodbye Cambrian House?

    http://oneeyedeer.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ goodbye-cambrian-house.html

Goodbye Cambrian House? So it looks like one of the pioneers of the crowdsourcing movement, Cambrian House is on the way out. Personally I put this down to 2 things: - 1. Crowdsourcing =/= Lead User Innovation (and it's relative - prosumption) 2.

Why Cambrian House Failed - it’s All in the Pizzaz

    http://www.zoliblog.com/ 2008/ 05/ 12/ why-cambrian-house-failed-its-all-in-the-…

Cambrian House, the poster-boys of Crowdsourcing are essentially dead - assets being sold in a garage sale for a fraction of what investors put in. TechCrunch and Mark Evans speculate the House collapsed due to poor execution. Of course.. in fact they were doomed to fail, and it was obvious ever since the 1000 pizzas episode.

Cambrian House vs TechCrunch: Is Crowdsourcing Dead?

    http://www.crowdsourcethis.com/ 2008/ 05/ 12/ cambrian-house-vs-techcrunch-is-cr…

Today TechCrunch reported that Cambrian House (a leader in crowdsourcing) has been sold to Spencer Trask and will form a new company called VenCorps. Sources inside Cambrian House have denied that the company has been sold and point to a New York Times article, about the company that points out the opposites.

[cross-posted from radicaltrust.ca] Raising funds for this year’s Terry Fox run or Pink Ribbon campaign is no longer limited to your door knocking abilities. From Facebook apps asking you to “chip in” to crowd-sourcing real-world solutions, the ability to tap the wealth and knowledge of your social network may just be the solution you’re looking for.

Putting Innovation in the Hands of a Crowd or Everything about Kluster

    http://www.unitedbit.com/ ?p=227

By BOB TEDESCHI | New York Times IF executives are going to rely on the wisdom of the masses for business help, it’s probably time the masses get a little compensation for it. That’s the theory behind Kluster, the newest in a lineup of companies using the Web to channel the collective wisdom of strangers into meaningful business strategies.

    Agile 2008 Submission Review Marathon

Phew, I am done! We had over 120 submissions for the Agile 2008 “Leadership and Teams” stage which is a great response. However at about 5-10 minutes each to read the bio’s, proposal and submit a review it adds up to a large evaluation effort.

    Pillars of Crowdsourcing

    http://www.crowdsourcethis.com/ 2008/ 02/ 28/ pillars-of-crowdsourcing/

Jeff Howe or Wired magazine coined the word Crowdsourcing in 2006 saying “Crowdsourcing represents the act of a company or institution taking a function once performed by employees and outsourcing it to an undefined (and generally large) network of people in the form of an open call.” since then many people have found ways to expand the definition of Crowdsourcing.
