Camping Gear

Tag details

For those who have never been camping before, selecting from amongst all of the camping gear available in a sporting goods store such as the world famous Cabela's may prove to be intimidating at the outset. But simplification to the basic essentials, as well as staying within the allotted budget available, can bring things back into perspective in a hurry.

Seasoned veteran campers will tell you you need food, water, shelter, and a fuel source when you go camping. A fancy R.V. is pie-in-the-sky for most, and an unnecessary luxury to true outdoorsmen.

Pack in what you can pack out (in terms of supplies and the resulting waste products), and don’t participate in overkill by loading the car or S.U.V. so full you break the axle. The less you have to keep track of, the more enjoyable will be your experience.

Here is the short list of camping gear: a sleeping bag, a water-proof tent, food, water, a knife, utensils, and matches. Recognize that these items all relate to the basics (food, water, fuel, and shelter).
