Graphics Of The Day: A Carbon Intensifying, 23-Year Vision Of US Energy Use
http://www.treehugger.com/ files/ 2008/ 05/ graphics-carbon-vision-energy.phpThe current US Administration projects a consistent message on the deepening risk of climate crisis: 23 year's worth of forward looking cognitive dissonance. One has only to consider the vision expressed in two simple bar graphics, excerpted here from a presentation given recently by the Director of the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), to see what the whole world clearly senses.

Carbon Tax!
http://morenotesfromunderground.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ carbon-tax.htmlIf it means a cut in income taxes I wouldn't mind. My car is pretty fuel efficient and the fiancee doesn't drive so we wouldn't likely add a second a vehicle. In other words, I'd probably come out ahead in this game. From a strategic point of view, I think Scott is right too, the grits might as well go down fighting.

I thought I would juxtapose it with an analysis by Canadian climate scientist Simon Donner (click on link for the entire piece): Is there a better time to redirect federal tax code to stress fuels, rather than income? The signals are all pointing in that direction.

Global Warming “News”: The annual Chicago GW induced infestation
http://davidsright.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ global-warming-news-annual-chicago-gw…”manmade” pollution from volcanoes ”manmade” pollution from volcanoes? That makes as much sense as Global Warming is caused by ”manmade” pollution. The 3,300 ft Chaiten Volcano, 800 miles south of the Chilean capital Santiago, is erupting for the first time in thousands of years, sending a plume of ash into the sky that stretches as far as Argentina.

Obese People are Causing Global Warming?
http://mpinkeyes.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 16/ obese-people-are-causing-global-wa…Chalk this one up in the “now I have heard it all when it comes to global warming” column, because this time I have really heard it all. I know I keep saying that I have heard it all, and eventually it will be true, but for now once again I say I have heard it all. I keep saying that, but the

Obama and the 57 Islamic states
http://davidsright.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ obama-and-57-islamic-states.htmlObama and 57 states In one of his many speeches, the junior senator from Illinois tells his audience that he has been to "57" states with "one more left to go" (he also explains that his staff had nixed the idea of going to Alaska or Hawaii). So a lot of people are now having a little fun at Senator Obama's expense.

Obama, the uniter?
http://davidsright.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ obama-uniter.htmlUnite ---- transitive verb: to put together to form a single unit When the country is split between people with strong conservative and liberal views, how do you unite the country? You have to compromise. Go toward the center. Which candidate is reaching to the other side? Obama has not budged from his extreme left positions.
