(The other recommended Chicago pizza place seems to be Ginos East; anyone out there tried them? The pizzas fresh to order at Malnatis, so they need 25 minutes or so to make it. Malnatis deep dish pie sure aint Pizza Hut.

Chicago River Cleanup Day

Today was the spring day, and for the second year in a row, I went to help at the river bend near Lathrop Homes. There's about a twelve-foot wall with an eight-foot fence on top, over which we pull the trash.

I tried to get tickets via the show’s website, but I’m assuming that since I haven’t heard anything by now, I won’t be receiving any. Oh well.

Occasionally, if we're lucky, Chicagoans will see a stray deer in the viscinity of the forest preserves. Indeed I pulled over on my way home from the airport last week to show my grandsons Bambi and a friend of hers, two doe grazing in an empty lot.

Spring on the river

The last few days have been quite warm--today it's only in the mid 50s.
