Sox Put on a Run Show Against Rangers

    http://www.sportsofboston.com/ 2008/ 08/ 15/ sox-put-a-run-show-against-rangers/…

They only played three games in this series, but in case you missed it, the Red Sox put up a total of 37 runs in just those three games.  Yes, you read correctly and it all started with a 19-17 win on Tuesday. The Sox scored 10 runs in the first inning with rookie Charlie Zink looking for his first major league win.

Red Sox score ten runs and shutout the Rangers 10-0

    http://www.redsoxhomeplate.com/ red-sox-score-ten-runs-and-shutout-the-rangers-1…

The Boston Red Sox once again used their high powered offense as eight different players had a rbi and the Red Sox beat the Texas Rangers 10-0. It was a great showing by the three pitchers that pitched as well as all of the batters that had no problems against the Rangers.

Does the Color of Your Sox Matter?

    http://redsoxdiary.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 08/ does-color-of-your-sox-matter.html

With Lowell going on the DL, the Red Sox are put in an interesting situation. I’m not talking about roster moves or who is going to pick up the offense… I’m talking about the lack of racial diversity in the lineup. Wednesday night, the Red Sox had a 100% white infield.

Can Someone Explain This Brian Giles Mess to Me?

    http://redsoxdiary.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 08/ can-someone-explain-this-brian-giles.…

This whole Brian Giles thing was fun, wasn't it? Even if it did seem to come out of left field. Yesterday, we had the report that the Sox had claimed Brian Giles from the waiver wire, causing all kinds of speculation: why would Boston want a solid-hitting outfielder when they have a full lineup and a full bench?

Sox Bats Wake Up Against Royals

    http://www.sportsofboston.com/ 2008/ 08/ 07/ sox-bats-wake-up-against-royals/

Things are really different without Manny Ramirez. First, the Red Sox are actually winning again…and when they lose it feels like a moral triumph. Despite the piling victories since the trade, Terry Francona has had to juggle the lineup around without Ramirez to find what he likes.

    Wedge's Confidence in Perez Growing

    http://ballhype.com/ story/ wedge_s_confidence_in_perez_growing/

Cleveland Indians manager Eric Wedge has a growing confidence in set-up man/closer Rafael Perez. Could he be earning more save opportunities soon? Plus the real player in the Coco Crisp/Andy Marte trade and why pitching coach Carl Willis want's everyone to be quiet about Cliff Lee's career year.

VIDEO: Royals and White Sox Brawl . . . Good Enough for a Bronze?

    http://www.gossiponsports.com/ video-royals-and-white-sox-brawl-good-enough-for-…

You know we can’t pass up a good brawl video. The Kansas City Royals knocked the Chicago White Sox out of first today with a 14-3 spanking. The knocking also became literal as the Royals’ Miguel Olivo charged the mound after being hit in the wrist by ChiSox pither D. J. Carrasco.  You know the rest of the story.

"It's great news,'' Moss, 24, told The Providence Journal after learning he would go to Pittsburgh.

    Beyond the Boxscore - 07/30/08

    http://www.fightingchancefantasy.com/ archives/ 516

Chris Carpenter made his triumphant return to the Cardinals lineup on Wednesday, as the former Cy Younger came back to try to help St. Louis make a playoff run. Carpenter wasn’t around long enough to take the win, but he was surely on a pitch count. Carpenter threw 67 pitches over four innings, allowed just one run and struck out two.

    Distracting

    http://bostonsoul.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 07/ 31/ distracting/

Need it we did. And get it we didn’t. Say hello to the clean sweep at home, ladies and gentlemen. Say hello to .560 ball. Say hello to three games behind the Rays and one ahead of the Yanks. Say hello to barely holding on to the Wild Card. If I sound peeved, it’s because I am. Who wouldn’t be? We were swept at home.
