Colleges

Colleges are institutions of higher learning. A college also infers a specific academic unit related by a discipline within a university.

A person would do himself or herself a great favor to buckle down and get serious about a college education from a very early age. During high school, the best job a teenager can have that pays the most dividends later is a good report card. A good SAT or ACT score will go a long way as well in applying for entrance into reputable colleges and universities.

The dividend payout spoken of comes in the form of an academic scholarship offering from a college or colleges that the studious applicant may then choose from between.

In some cases a family member may be the only one from a long line of relatives and siblings that has the capability and financial backing to attend a college or university. What a joy it is for him or her to represent the family and set a standard for future generations to come, ensuring a better life — one that only higher education can promise.
