Yesterday the Colonel's cousin from America stopped over with us on a flying visit to Paris as he made his way from London on a whistlestop European tour. Once again I was humbled by another's appreciation of the city we call home, and his gusto for travelling incredible distances to pack as much into the trip as possible.

So I am now officially 28 years of age. I say officially because actually I thought I was already 28 and have been saying that for about 6 months now, so it was kind of a let down when I realised I could have been enjoying being 27 for all that time, dammit!

Poppy has returned to her rightful owner, and the Colonel and I are free to return to our usual glamourous lifestyle unfettered by responsibility and dog-walking. In other words back to our nightly routine of me watching the West Wing with earphones in while he listens to French radio.
