I have known I liked girls since like the eight grade. I have had boyfriends and girlfriends and hook up with people a lot. I am turning 16 very soon and right now I have an amazing girlfriend I met on my softball team.

For much of the day I was enjoying an after glow from my birthday and a fantastic time last night with someone wonderful. Then I heard from a friend whose family (with about a single exception) from what he has related to me are a bunch of snooty, self-absorbed and self-impressed assholes.

I guess this is probably asked a lot. How to come out and tell your parents, family, and friends that you’re gay? I’ve thought of many ways that I could tell them but never have had the courage to. I’ve never dated because I’m not ready for my family and friends to find out.

I am in my first lesbian relationship and I’ve never been happier. My only problem is getting my parents to accept it. I can’t even approach the subject and I don’t know what to do. My girl makes me so happy and I want to be able to share that with everyone, especially my family.

Just a warning that this may come out all jumbled. A few fleeting thoughts, feelings, whatever you want to call them. In high school, that’s what I thought they were. I was neither bisexual nor a lesbian. How could I be??? Why should I be??? But lately I feel different. I’m now 21, and I have no idea who I really am anymore.
