Cuisine
Cuisine is a style of cooking, food preparation, or ingredient usage specific to a particular culture or national heritage. Some examples of different cuisines are Greek, Chinese, Indian, German, American Southern, Middle Eastern, Hungarian, Polish, French, and Japanese.
Sometimes a particular cuisine is popularized by someone raised outside of its culture who has studied it seriously. Julia Child developed a passion for French cooking that she shared with the world in her cookbooks and television shows. For better or worse, often cuisines experience change when they are transplanted by their people to a different country as in the case of Chinese, Indian, and Italian food.
There are plenty of good blogs to help you explore various cuisines, including Greek Food: Recipes and Reflections, ZenKimchi Korean Food Journal, Steamy Kitchen, and From Argentina With Love.
