Hear my heart here…I love where we live, but I am so bummed that we don’t live near Harmony, FL. You see, this is the place where the Dark Sky Festival is going to be taking place this coming April 5th.  You can view stars through telescopes, talk to astronomers and other scientist, eat lots of goodies provided by the food vendors, and visit the specialty booths.

Enjoy the night without lights I live in the country and I love going out during the summer and looking at all the stars. I remember being a teenager and laying out on our trampoline and watching the meteor showers. It was fun and something I will always remember.

The 5th annual Dark Sky Festival is scheduled to take place April 5th at 7:00pm in Harmony's Town Square. (Harmony, FL)If you are anywhere near Harmony FL during this time you just may want to check it out. The Dark Festival will be hosted by International Dark Sky association.

The Dark Sky Festival is a festival that is all about getting back to being able to see the stars and no light pollution. It's happening in Harmony, Florida at the Harmony Town Square on Saturday, April 5, 2008. This year they will be celebrating it's 5th year annual Dark Sky Festival, just make sure you are there by 7:00 pm as that is the the event starts up.

When Denis and I lived in NoNJ we very rarely could see the stars shining in the sky unless the sky was spotless - and even then it was difficult since our area was so congested with light pollution. During the recent lunar eclipse I had the pleasure of standing on my back patio watching the moon slowly turn red with a multitude of stars all around.
