    Fedora 9 Released Today Soon

    http://blog.radicalfix.com/ 2008/ 05/ 13/ fedora-9-released-today/

I have been waiting for Fedora 9 for some time now, since they didn’t meet the deadline for the first release date. My Dell Inspiron 640M is still running on Fedora 7, obviously I didn’t upgrade to version 8, because I have been waiting for version 9, which included a lot of new awesome features and packages, especially the Java OpenJDK 6 and Ext4 file system, which I’m instrested in.

    Xubuntu 8.04

    http://www.enigmorph.za.net/ ?p=32

I went to see a potential client today who told me they have two or three PC’s that they would like to use purely as internet terminals for their customers. The setup they wanted is that customers could surf the web, check their mail and chat on various IM’s but no downloading is allowed.

    What A New OS Needs

    http://nerdd.net/ 2008/ 05/ 12/ what-a-new-os-needs/

Could there be a bigger threat than Linux to Microsoft’s OS dominance? If an open-source version of Windows can be developed that is totally compatible with the abundance of Windows drivers?the idea behind ReactOS?then Microsoft will have to go back to work. What I'd like to see in a new OS is the elimination of the Registry.

    Eeepc 900 Worth it?

    http://neverendinginternet.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 10/ eeepc-900-worth-it/

I have been following the Eee Pc 900 recently, and thought it was a great deal. It’s supposed to come out in the United States this month, and I was thinking of purchasing one. But I have also been looking at the Ubuntu Linux line up too. The problem with the Eee PC 900 is that it is supposed to go on sale for $540 - $560 in the US.
