Digg

Tag details

Digg is an online hub for content drawn from sources extending across all of the vast reaches of the internet. The content — drawn mostly from blogs and articles ranging from everything from breaking news, to topics like music, sports and entertainment — is submitted by site members (also called diggers) to the site, who then can cast their votes (or "diggs") as to the most read or popular articles. Sign up for Digg is free.

The articles receiving the most diggs are then promoted on Digg's front page, a portal which receives millions of visitors. As such, Digg has not only become a destination point for newshounds (Digg often breaks stories before the national mainstream media does), but also a popular promotional tool for bloggers looking to bring more traffic to their site. With Digg, it is possible for even the most obscure blog to draw lots of traffic and attention if they break the right story.

Digg has also launched its own Twitter Page. A number of digg blogs have also sprouted up such as the Digg Coach and another extolling the Ten Digger Commandments.
