    Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk

    http://www.valmg.com/ index.php/ 2008/ alzheimers-association-memory-walk/

I’ve written previously about Alzheimer’s and how it relates to my family. My grandma almost certainly had it before she passed, but back in those days we knew so much less about it. Odds are higher that my youngest son may develop Alzheimer’s because of it’s association with Down Syndrome.

    Alzheimer’s Memory Walk

    http://www.motherhood-unscripted.com/ ?p=997

It’s been over a year since my father-in-law died. He was diagnosed with dementia in 2002. I’d only known him since 1993 or so, so I’m not sure how long the dementia affected him; but I wouldn’t be surprised to find out he’d been living with it for almost as long as I’d known him.

I am as guilty as anyone. I read the paper (mostly online now), and scan the national and local headlines: Taking Necessary Steps Against Credit Crisis. California May Ban Trans Fats. Okay, I think. Okay. Nothing I have to deal with at the moment. No action needed.

Governor Palin, I'm calling you out

    http://www.thesoccermomvote.com/ the_soccer_mom_vote/ 2008/ 06/ governor-palin.h…

When I first read about Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, I was intrigued. She's one of only eight women running a state government, mothers five children, runs marathons, and manages to have approval ratings in the 90's. As if that weren't enough, her name continues to be mentioned on the short-list of people being considered as McCain's vice-presidential nominee.

    Tube Feeding Your Child

    http://www.themomcrowd.com/ tube-feeding-your-child

My daughter, Darah was tube fed for the first two years of her life. Most people had absolutely no idea what her feeding tube was and I got a lot of stares or quick “look aways” and a lot of questions about what those tubes were for. Darah was born with a very serious heart defect.
