SharePoint Archiving - RBS vs. EBS vs. Content Transfer vs. Shortcuts

    http://nevertalkwhenyoucannod.com/ 2008/ 08/ 26/ sharepoint-archiving--rbs-vs-eb…

If you only read one of my series of posts this lifetime you might want to make it this one. It is certainly not my most coherent or interesting series but it is the one that is likely to save you the most grief over the next few years, (assuming you have something to do with SharePoint deployments).

    Flex Charts and Documentum

    http://bmoc.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 08/ 07/ flex-charts-and-documentum/

A few weeks ago I wrote about my great experience with Flex Builder 3.0 and Documentum. I recently had a little fun so I thought I would share the experience. I wanted to throw a pie chart of some Documentum data on a portal and was able to get it done in under thirty minutes. [...]

    The ECM Architect’s Creed

    http://bmoc.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 08/ 05/ the-ecm-architects-creed/

A very wise young man asked the question - “Why even bother with wiki’s in Documentum. Open source tools were there first and it’s just not worth the trouble. ” The implication also being that somehow backing into paying for something that is essentially free just doesn’t make sense.

    Documentum 6.5 is Released

    http://wordofpie.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 08/ 01/ documentum-65-is-released/

1 August 2008 — Pie Just so you know, last night I saw the first bits of D6.5 on the download site. The entire core stack is out. If you are a partner, you may not see some components as they are fixing some of the entitlements. I expect that to be fixed quickly. [Edit 8/5/2008: Fixed.] Share and enjoy.

Resurfacing Rumors - Cisco and EMC

    http://bmoc.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 07/ 31/ resurfacing-rumors-cisco-and-emc/

I wish I could say I told you so - but I can’t. It’s not that the thought never crossed my mind. I never said it out loud. (Beetlejuice,Beetlejuice,Beetle… ) Possibly out of fear of what the impact could be. Possibly because there were too many other noisy deals to chat about. Rumors of a [...]

    Web 2.0 and ECM

    http://lensblog.typepad.com/ ebiz/ 2008/ 07/ web-20-and-ecm.html

Yesterday EMC announced Documetum ECM 6.5... Despite the 6.5 label, this is much more than a point release. From my POV, it represents a fundamental shift in the ECM space. While there's no shortage of cool new tools under the hood of 6.5, it's the marriage of Web 2.0 with the more traditional ECM capabilities that I believe to be most exciting.
