First came 360, launched in 2005 as an early attempt to get Yahoo into social networking, was unceremoniously shut down earlier this year. In 2006 Yahoo was unable to close a transaction with Facebook, despite being willing to pay up to $1.62 billion. Nor could they pull the trigger on a $1 billion Bebo deal (Bebo went to AOL for $850 million). ...

    El Cid's closure not permanent

    A few readers have e-mailed, asking why El Cid in Paramus has closed. Fear not, friends; a sign on the door indicates the restaurant will only be closed until Sept. 4 for vacation. It's been closed since the beginning of August.

    Roman Cafe to close early

    Marcello & Dino Roman Cafe, the restaurant founded by retiring restaurateur Marcello Sili, is closing a day early. The restaurant will serve its last dinners Saturday night instead of Sunday, because more time is needed on renovations on the restaurant's successor, Dino's Restaurant.
