Election

Tag details

The term election typically refers to a process where voters choose, though a system of balloting, a candidate to fill a particular office. In the United States, elections are held to elect positions from local village presidents to the President and leader of the Country.

In a country where freedom of speech reigns supreme, web users have the opportunity to share thoughts, write parody, blog about and rally support for their adopted candidate(s).  Further, today's candidates have the opportunity to promote themselves.  Constituents can research a candidate's life work, create entries on their blogs, donate money and volunteer to help with a campaign.  Candidates can create buzz by uploading videos of their campaign trail.

The web has created a system that allows voters to be as informed and active as they choose to be in any election. Elections in the U.S. are a right and privilege of each qualified citizen.  Now, no voter has to go into an election booth without a clear understanding of what he or she is voting for.
