Event

Events are special or planned social gatherings which could include a wedding, party, ceremony, competition or convention. Media functions to launch new products or announce coming attractions are often planned as a series of events.

Typical big events in the lifetime of individuals include graduation, engagement, marriage and the birth of children. Concerts and cultural performances can also be labelled as events.

Event planning is a multi-million business that includes budgeting, venue selection, coordination of vendors and dates. The event planner will also coordinate menu, décor, catering, security and parking as well as clean up.

Event blogs may be dedicated to one special area (a ballet company, musical artist or city events) or may list any coming event by calendar period. An event blog may be especially useful for travelers to find a special event for the time of their visit. A site like Live Event Blog lists theater, music, sports and comedy events by topic area and by date of the event.
