Family Guy

Tag details

Family Guy is part of a resurgence of animation in prime time broadcast television. The writers rely on broad humor and biting satire to thumb their noses at popular culture.

This cartoon series follows the (mis)adventures of the Griffin family. Father Peter is a buffoon, responsible for many of the problems faced in each episode. Lois is a stay-at-home mom. While she is usually the voice of reason, her advice is rarely heeded. The eldest child is daughter Meg, often the butt of jokes involving her lack of popularity. Son Chris is similar to his father, good natured but not the sharpest pencil in the box. Stewie is the youngest child and every parent's nightmare as a typical villian, albeit in diapers. Adult in his language and mannerisms, he rejoices in his superiority to everyone else. The family is rounded out by a martini-drinking, cigarette-smoking dog named Brian. Walking upright, many of his exploits revolve around his true desire is to spend his life with Lois as his mate.
