Okay, true confession time:  I’ve never read Cerebus. For the majority of my life, I’ve been a mainstream comic guy.  Still am.  Now, though, I’m more open to independent projects. Still, though, Cerebus is something that I’d like to get around to reading at some point.

Two recent news items led me to today’s musing. The first is the Texas polygamists and the second is the Vanity Fair photo of Miley Cyrus. Both serve to demonstrate the fact that numerous American’s have yet to resolve the unhealthy dissonance that seems to accompany any event that can be seen as remotely sexual.

I saw a picture in the paper yesterday of a bunch of NATO leaders getting ready for a group photo. Standing at center was a very lonely looking President Bush. I almost felt bad for him. He was like some outcast and friendless child. Then I realized what was really going on.
