Freaks and Geeks
Freaks and Geeks was a prime time television series that aired on NBC in the 1999-2000 television season. It is a popular tag because of the people involved in the show.
The series focused on the lives of a brother and sister and the groups they hung out with (freaks and geeks) in a suburban Detroit high school in 1980. The series was written and produced by Paul Feig, who would go on to become a producer of the American version of the TV series The Office. Several episodes were also written and directed by Judd Apatow, who would write and direct the films The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up.
Among the actors on the show and their later projects were Linda Cardellini (the Scooby Doo movies and the TV series E.R.), James Franco (Harry Osborn in the Spiderman movies), Seth Rogen (The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up), and Jason Segel (Knocked Up and the TV series How I Met Your Mother).
