Fruit

Tag details

Many sizes, shapes, colors, textures, and flavors make up the fruit world. It's easy to get caught up in comparing apples to oranges when the subject of fruits comes up, but that would be marginalizing the virtues of each individually.

Many fruits are high in vitamin C, have good fiber content, and are wonderful eaten raw. Some of the most popular juices and smoothies are made from fruit.

The food pyramid suggests that we eat 2 to 4 servings of fruits per day as part of a balanced and healthy diet. The famous adage, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away" hints toward the fact that fruits can help keep the body balanced nutritionally by keeping it regular and providing a good boost to the immune system. Some of the more famous fruits, grapes (containing resveratrol) and acai berry, a superfood containing a high content of antioxidants, may help in the prevention of disease including various types of cancer.

Fruit
flavors are an oft-mimicked ingredient contained in beverages, ice cream, candies, and many other confectionary items and food products. Bloggers speaking loops around fruit can be found at sites like thefruitblog and harvestmoonbyhand.
