Ricotta and Spinach Stuffed Herb Crepes
http://www.andreasrecipes.com/ 2008/ 05/ 14/ ricotta-and-spinach-stuffed-herb-cr…I always feel so elegant when eating crepes, even if I’m tres casual at the time. We’ve enjoyed them on several occasions since trying the wonderful recipe in The Sweet Melissa Baking Book, and each time I glanced at my herb garden, thinking about adding herbs to the batter and making some savory crepes.

The Garden Eight Weeks Later
http://www.foodfeedfed.com/ 2008/ 05/ 11/ the-garden-eight-weeks-later/It’s been about two months since we first planted our garden, and most of the veggies are looking really good. This first photo is after we planted our babies (we didn’t try to grow from seed this first time around).

hot day
http://colouritgreen.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 10/ hot-day/very hot here today - which actually got in the way a tad, of all the things I wanted to get done - as wilting was not on the list! I burn so easily that I mostly avoid the mid day sun.. perhaps I should take to siestas! By 4 it was just perfect - and I started to move about again - planted out my third row of peas. Had a bit of a crisis, as realise we have way more plants than space..

Sowing Seeds
http://sallygardens.typepad.com/ sallygardens/ 2008/ 03/ its-mad-busy-in.htmlThis month is a very busy one in the garden. I am spending a lot of time in the polytunnel. I have bee sowing a lot of plants in seed trays which I leave in the polytunnel to germinate ... things like lettuce, amarynth, chop suey greens, beetroot, swiss chard and pak choi.

Grow Your Own #6 Roundup
http://www.andreasrecipes.com/ 2008/ 02/ 03/ grow-your-own-6-roundup/This edition of Grow Your Own seems to focus on simplicity. Maybe it’s the cold weather here in the DC area, but the dishes we’ve served up using our homegrown foods make me think of all things simple, homey, and comforting.

Grow Your Own #5 Round-Up
http://www.andreasrecipes.com/ 2008/ 01/ 05/ grow-your-own-5-round-up/Happy New Year! December was a very busy month, but we still managed to make some dishes using herbs grown in our kitchen garden. With temperatures ranging in the 20s to 40s F, it’s just too cold to grow produce outdoors! We have mint, seven different types of basil, rosemary, thyme, oregano, Italian parsley, cilantro, habanero peppers, and saffron crocuses growing in the sun room.
