Hannah Montana

Hannah Montana is a highly successful family television program that airs on the Disney Channel. It is based around the concept of a girl's double life and has been nominated for an Emmy Award.

Miley Cyrus stars as average teenage girl Miley Stewart. She has a secret, of course. While she is a normal everyday teenager by day, Stewart transforms into pop sensation Hannah Montana at night and wows international audiences with her incredible performance abilities. Like a pop superhero, Montana is often counted on to be everywhere at once, which often comprimises her identity.

The show premiered on the Disney Channel in March of 2006.

Along with Cyrus, the series also stars Emily Osment, Mitchel Musso, Jason Earles, and Miley's real-life dad Billy Ray Cyrus. There is also an extensive cast of recurring characters, which gives the show an opportunity to showcase some additional talent. The Disney Channel has since used the Hannah Montana character as a jumping-off point for more television shows geared towards the tween audience. There was also a successful concert movie featuring the superstar.
