Independent and World Cinema: Catch-Up Post
http://www.the-frame.com/ blog/ 2008/ 07/ 27/ independent-and-world-cinema-catch…I’m being arbitrary once again with my definition of “independent.” In this category, I’m going to include a) indie or non-mainstream films that are not new releases, like the first two films below, and b) new release films that are truly small films, i.e., did not get a lot of studio publicity and a wide release, and probably were not financed by a major studio, even their speciality arms.

The real reason I would say that it was good is because it was a little different from the rest of the super hero movies out there nowadays, but it is still a super hero movie unfortunately.

Even as someone who has never really had much use for the mumblecore movement, this one has me intrigued, in large part because the two elements seem so incongruous.

Tribeca Film Festival Review: "Baghead"

Hannah Takes the Back-Handed Praise
